Ana Louise Bonasera
✨meet the mother behind the scenes✨
Ana Louise Bonasera is 28 and from Oxfordshire, UK. She is a mother to Nathaniel (8) and twins Jude & Luca (7), wife to Jordan and they welcomed their baby boy Spencer in June 2018.
Ana has been in the health & wellness industry for 7 years and is a qualified fitness instructor. She become focused on nutrition and exercising after having her twins in January 2014. Although the weight came off and she learned a lot about nutrition and what food is good for our bodies, her mentality of comparison, being obsessed by scales and what size clothes she wore had a negative impact on her mental health.
In May 2017 having just met her new partner, her twins were diagnosed with autism. After 18 months of trying to find answers, having a diagnosis meant they could research and find more help.
During her postpartum journey with baby Spencer in the Summer of 2018, Ana realised what it truly meant to love your body, to accept it for what it is and be grateful for all it has got you through. She became more and more aware of the negative mentality women (in particular) have towards weight loss and the need to "change" their bodies. She noticed it was not just affecting their physical health but their mental health too.
Although at peace with her own body, other factors of life crept in and Ana felt her mental health was taking a turn for the worse, she noticed that although she had been working on her relationship with her body she hadn't realised that she was still talking negatively to herself about her other abilities, being a mother, a wife, a homemaker, a business woman, etc. the juggle is real.
In 2019 she created her GRL PWR community Self Love detox to empower other women to look after themselves physically and mentally and to hold herself accountable.
Ana had more battles and challenges, overcoming fears, facing reality and stepping way out of her comfort zone, from running 10K in her underwear around London to publishing her first book "Stretched: A mother's journey to love her 'flaws' and how you can too" find out more about through the blog.
In 2020 she extended her mission to empower women to honour their 'flaws' and created her Statement Clothing range, a way to help women on a day to day basis without taking up any of their time. Putting her mantras on to Statement Tees and Sweatshirts to motivate and remind you that you are a badass.
