Whether you're a newbie to journalling or you're pro, I have put together a super simple and quick way to journal.
Yep life is busy, even more so at the moment for us all, we don't have time to write pages and pages of how we're feeling, however I know the importance of getting your emotions out and not letting them eat away at you. Let's journal through this together with my new 3-2-1 journalling approach. |
Write 3 emotions that you're feeling - this could be anything, just simple words to describe how you are, it's key to acknowledge how you are feeling so that we can move forward from this and find a more positive emotion. Also if you need to write more there's space at the bottom for free writing.
Write 2 things you're thankful for - now we want to work on starting to shift that mindset, you could be thankful for anything from the sunshine, the fact that you are still breathing, the running water out of your tap, your loved ones around you near or far. When we come from a place of gratitude, we cannot feel fear or anxiety, the more you list of the better you feel.
Write 1 thing that will make you smile today - no matter how you feel, even if it's a fake smile the act of smiling actually releases good endorphins which help you feel more positive. Even if it's tough right now, finding something to smile about will increase your changes of boosting your mental wellness.
Free flow writing - if you have something you really need to get off your chest but don't want to say it out loud, write it down, let it out and empty your mind.
My brain squiggle - sometimes when I'm really frustrated or even excited I will gab a pen and paper and scribble as hard as I can, how I'm feeling, here's one I made earlier haha, why not give it a go? I'd love to see your brain squiggle in the Self Love Detox.

You are more powerful than you know, when you make peace with your body because you set yourself free.
